Tomorrow sees the launch of three Ray Bradbury books released as eBooks in the UK. Bradbury’s career spanned over seventy years and it all began here, with The Martian Tales published in 1950, followed by The Illustrated Man and Fahrenheit 451 soon afterwards. Whether you have never read these classic science fiction masterpieces, or if you would like to revisit them again, these three books are must-reads for any SF fan.

As e-book formats emerged and proliferated, some garnered support from major software companies such as Adobe with its PDF format, and others supported by independent and open-source programmers. Different readers followed different formats, most of them specializing in only one format, and thereby fragmenting the e-book market even more. .-

  2. I was very taken with this, and then realised I don’t need them in electronic form, I still have the paperback copies I bought half a century ago

  3. Farenheit 451, the greatest defence of physical books ever written, in electronic book form? Have you people no sense of irony?

    • But Farenheit 451 is not about defence of physical books. It’s more about reading vs watching, facts vs factoids, books vs media.
      Bradbury said that electronic books “smell like burned fuel” but Farenheit was 1st ebook he allowed.
