Digital Submissions Update

Thank you for your continuing patience as we make our way through the digital submissions. We have been truly astounded by the quality and breadth of the submissions we received, and are taking each one into careful consideration – often by multiple editors. We realize that this has resulted in an exceptionally long waiting period for you, but please rest assured that we are working through the remaining manuscripts as quickly as possible, while still giving each a thorough assessment.

We are currently at 295 submissions (from 550 at our last update), and have begun to make a few offers as well.

We will respond to every remaining submission by the end of January 31, 2014.

As before, if you would like to pull your submission, please email us at voyagersubmissions(at)harpercollins.com.

Thank you, and all best wishes for the holiday season and for the new year.

  2. Happy 5 month anniversary, update post. I feel like our relationship has been one that has been steady, full of hope and tears. I’m glad for the friends we’ve made together. I still hold onto the dream that this will become something more someday. <3

      • Don’t see many comments here -official or unofficial. I also check Absolute Water Cooler Thread – seems like folks there are getting a little fed up with all the missed deadlines.

        • Yeah, some kind of simple ping would be nice. It doesn’t have to be a whole blog post, really. Even just a note on this existing thread from someone, letting us know there’s life in the old girl yet!

          • With Diana Gill’s move over to Ace, I think the main force behind this is gone. I’m about ready to hang it up and call it a day.

    • Hi Howie,

I’ve checked back in on occasion, but the lack of updates is a bit frustrating. After reading Jen’s post about the departure of Diana Gill this morning, I sent them a request to pull my manuscript. I’ve been a bit slow in getting this letter out, hoping against the odds that I’d hear back something from somebody! Oh well. HV’s loss, I’d say. Sales have been doing a heck of a lot better since I released on my own than they were while the book was sitting in a virtual drawer waiting on word from this contest.

Good luck to those of you hanging in! It’s a significant achievement to have made it this far in the process, even with the lack of solid updates. I’m happy I participated, but I think it’s definitely time for me to move on.

      • Well I have pretty well given up on them as well. Sent them one e-mail (no response) – book is in final formatting for release on Amazon (Hard copy and e-book). They better hurry if they want to make an offer. Do you have website describing your book?

        • Yeah, if you click on my name above it’s linked directly to my site and you can find all the info on Convergence.

I checked out your site. Is The Bloodline Artifacts the book you’ll be releasing soon? Good title; I’ll keep an eye out for the release details!

  3. Another month, another Monday, another post just to make the counter go up. And to share a bit of hope to get you through those Monday blues. I’m still rooting for you! We’re all in this together. :)

  4. No word yet. I emailed them to see if I was still under consideration, but no response. For those of you who did get a response to such queries, how long did they take to get back to you? Just wondering what the response times are like now.

  5. So, has anybody still not heard one way or the other? I was still ‘alive’ as of December 4, 2013, but haven’t heard word from them since. Who’s in the same boat?

        • I’ve been thinking of doing that, too, Howie. I’d emailed them three times during the course of this whole thing as it didn’t seem they were going to send out rejections of any kind early on. Once I got wind that they were, I checked up with them. Perhaps I’ll give it another week or so, and if I don’t hear from them by then I’ll fire off another email. Thanks for the replies, folks!

    • Hey Matt,

I’m still in the same boat as you. No word yet, and debating if I should send an inquiry. Last definite news I heard was back in September that I was still under consideration.

  6. Got an offer for my submission and one other by email about 30 min. ago, y’all.
That means if you’re still in, you still got win.

And thank you, HV, and thank you, compatriots on this board.

  7. Well, it’s almost 2:30 EST, Friday, January 31. Anybody hear anything yet? I’m still in the dark, but since my manuscript has been in the running for more than a year, I’m still keeping my fingers crossed and thinking that must be a good sign!

  8. Things are heating up. I was keeping tabs on the HV thread of the AW site when both the moderator and administrator told the online community to stop speculating on what was going on at HV. Cough…Cough…Nazi… I guess everyone is feeling touchy this close to the end.
